Moon Street Medical Centre provides excellence in General Practice and Family Medicine in Ballina, Lismore, Byron Bay and surrounding areas. Services provided include Skin Cancer Clinic treatment, Occupational Medicine, Acupuncture, Women's Health, Mental Health Services, and Immigration Medical Examination for Health Services Australia (HSA) and the Australian Department of Immigration. Moon Street Medical is open Monday to Friday and situated in the Ballina CBD.

A full range of general practice services is provided. Minor surgery, dressings, pap smears, acupuncture and immunizations. The surgery is wheel chair accessible and a play area is provided for children.

AFTER HOURS ARRANGEMENTS

House calls are provided in-hours and after for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. For very urgent medical problems a doctor is on call at Ballina Hospital at all times. Phone calls are automatically diverted to the doctor on call.

You will be advised at the time of consultation when and how to obtain results.

We ask that all accounts be paid at the time of consultation. If patients have difficulty paying fees please discuss this with your doctor. Please enquire at reception on fees for home visits.

REFERRALS TO SPECIALISTS

When requesting a referral to a specialist it is appropriate to see your doctor who can assess the nature and urgency of the need then arrange for you to see the most suited person. A referral will contain details of your problem, history, current medication and relevant test results. Referrals of a routine nature eg eye review may be provided without a consultation if your doctor has agreed todo this. Please ensure that your letter of referral is collected from the surgery prior to your specialist appointment, unless otherwise arranged.
